MIMC

A flyer that was passed out at Comic Con!
It seems as though I’ve won another contest! This time the Morning International Manga Competition, presented by Kodansha. You might know Morning magazine, it’s the anthology that Vagabond, among other things, is published in. I wasn’t planning on announcing this big news so soon, but apparently Kodansha told Tokyopop, beans got spilled and now on the Vampire Kisses page on the Tokyopop website it says that I’ve won the contest! So I thought I’d make a post before people started asking me about it. Kodansha plans on officially announcing all the winners sometime late this month.
ANYWAY~ This is all very exciting! A very big deal for me! Now you know why I took Kage no Matsuri off of my website! As you can read from the flyer, Kage no Matsuri will be published in the October issue of Morning 2 magazine, a bi-monthly magazine with a hodge-podge of off-beat artists within. My work will be on the cover, and I’ll have a full page spread on the inside!
Happiness~!!
The flyer pictured above is for the second MIMC, and I encourage everyone who can to join! Deadline’s at the end of December, so you better start crackin’!
It seems as though this is going to be an excited next couple of months. If you don’t hear from me regularly, it’s because I’ve just started on the second volume of Vampire Kisses, and it seems like that, among other things, is going to keep me pretty busy!

It might be worth mentioning that some of the art was redrawn for the print version. There will also be a new color splash page, a hidden dungeon, new FMV and the option to use Japanese or English voices.
We’re calling it “Kage no Matsuri: International”.
